Getting to Know the XLR Connector
As the short description above says, an XLR connector links a mic with other audio recording equipment. You should know that this connector comes in three configurations with nearly the same function, even though they look quite different. Among the many brands offering similar products, the ones from Goshen Swara Indonesia are dependable.
History and Function of the XLR Connector
This jack connector was first invented by James H. Cannon. The company was originally named Cannon Electric, and its products were nicknamed the Cannon X. Over time the product kept being developed, and the addition of a latch gave it the name XLR jack.
The company later produced another product with a nearly identical function, called the XLP. It uses plastic insulation, but many of the components used to build it are almost the same as those of the XLR. In terms of function it is also nearly identical, connecting the input from a microphone. Even so, this device can also be used to connect with a professional mixer to produce solid audio.
Male and Female XLR Connector Types
You should know that this connector comes in two types, male and female, which are easy to tell apart. Look closely and you will see that the male XLR connector has three long metal pins. The female XLR connector is slightly different, with three holes arranged to fit its counterpart exactly.
This jack connector is then attached to the body casing of other devices such as sound cards, audio mixers, and other equipment closely tied to audio recording. Without this connector, you won't be able to connect one device to another. If you plan to buy an XLR jack, you can look at the products offered by Goshen Swara Indonesia.
